Custom Motorcycle & Helmet Painting Update
Over the past few months the Crazy Custom Paint shop has changed dramatically! Our ability to go from airbrushing intense, detailed photo realistic portraits to race design helmets to full graphic layouts on a motorbike is one of the things that sets us apart, and our workshop is now finely tuned to accommodate this. Other shops might only specialise in on field of this work but we are the only shop in Ireland that has successfully combined all these aspects of custom work. Also our design work is kept in house, using Adobe Illustrator, this has given me total control over the painting process from start to finish.
We have now joined the Lechler coatings family by installing their Hydrofan system. This gives us access to standard motorbike colours with over 2200 different variants and their moto colour box containing 550 colour swatches to make sure your paint work is perfectly matched and repaired to better than factory standard. No other motorbike repairer or custom shop in Ireland has this mixing system only Crazy custom paint. And we will be using their primers and clearcoat as well.
I knew it was time to go with a water based paint as the major paint companies are not formulating new colours in solvent basecoat and we always want to be looking towards the future and using the best materials we can. I love this paint and the support we have received from Lechler UK has been excellent both on their product usage and application. In fact l can see it being our main paint for motorcycle repair and race replicas and maybe even replacing House of Kolor on the helmets!
It’s been a great first 6 months for the shop, we have been airbrushing helmets and motorbikes throughout Ireland the UK and Europe. The range of work we can now undertake now includes repairs back to factory standard, plastic welding and race replicas. I think this is what makes Crazy Custom Paint different we really are a one stop shop for anything to do with motorcycle custom or refinish paint work.
I can’t wait to see what happens over the year ahead, even after 20 years in the refinish industry l am always learning something new daily and with companies like Lechler on board l can only see our company growing stronger. Stay tuned to the blog as l will be regularly updating it.
